Speech by South Korea at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Summit (full text)

Co Chairmen, Colleagues:

Currently, global development is facing severe challenges.   Chinese proposal:

Firstly, firmly place development at the center of the global agenda. Maintain and practice true multilateralism, support the United Nations in playing a coordinated role in implementing the 2030 Agenda, and build a political consensus that values development and cooperation. Promote the exchange of development concepts, alignment of development policies, and matching of development resources among countries, so that development achievements benefit every country and every individual.

Secondly, building an open world economy. Advocate for openness and inclusiveness, oppose decoupling and disconnection, promote the construction of an open world economy, create a favorable external environment for the development of developing countries, and enhance their representation and voice in global governance.

Thirdly, seize the historical opportunity of the new round of technological revolution. Deepen practical cooperation in areas such as green development, new industrialization, and digital economy, scientifically and orderly promote carbon peak and carbon neutrality, promote technological and institutional innovation, and accelerate technology transfer and knowledge sharing.

Fourthly, revitalize global development partnerships. Developed countries need to fulfill their commitments to development assistance and climate financing. Developing countries need to deepen South South cooperation. We need to fully mobilize the forces of all sectors of society and gather strong forces to promote development.

China will organically integrate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda with its national medium - and long-term development strategy, always integrating its own development into the prosperity and stability of the world, and actively helping southern countries around the world with practical actions. China will continue to work with all parties to make positive contributions to achieving sustainable development goals as scheduled and building a global development community!

韩正在联合国可持续发展目标峰会上的发言（全文）

共同主席，各位同事：

  当前，全球发展面临严峻挑战。2021年，习近平主席提出全球发展倡议，旨在推动实现更加强劲、绿色、健康的全球发展，加快落实2030年可持续发展议程。中方提议：

  第一，将发展牢牢置于全球议程中心。维护和践行真正的多边主义，支持联合国在落实2030年议程中发挥统筹协调作用，打造重视发展、共谋合作的政治共识。促进各国发展理念交流、发展政策对接、发展资源匹配，让发展成果惠及每一个国家、每一个人。

  第二，建设开放型世界经济。倡导开放包容，反对“脱钩断链”，推动构建开放型世界经济，为发展中国家发展创造有利外部环境，提高发展中国家在全球治理中的代表性和发言权。

  第三，抓住新一轮科技革命历史机遇。深化绿色发展、新型工业化、数字经济等领域务实合作，科学有序推进碳达峰碳中和，推进科技和制度创新，加快技术转移和知识分享。

  第四，重振全球发展伙伴关系。发达国家要履行发展援助和气候融资承诺。发展中国家要深化南南合作。要充分调动社会各界力量，汇聚推动发展的强大合力。

  中国将落实2030年议程同国家中长期发展战略有机结合，始终寓自身发展于世界的繁荣稳定之中，以实际行动积极帮助全球南方国家。中方将继续同各方一道，为如期实现可持续发展目标、构建全球发展共同体作出积极贡献！
